Great teams don't just throw information — they make sure it's caught.

Focus On The Throw brings juggling into the room to make staff training, change management, and communication workshops genuinely fun — and genuinely effective.

About

A juggling ball is just an idea, mid-air.

Every workshop we run is built around one simple truth: it doesn't matter how good your message is if nobody catches it. Teams get talked at constantly — new processes, new tools, new priorities — and most of it drops.

We use the physical, hands-on act of juggling as a live metaphor for communication and change. It's playful, it's memorable, and it gets people out of their heads and into the moment — which is exactly where real learning happens.

The result: teams that leave laughing, but also leave with a genuinely sharper sense of how to set up, deliver, and land ideas with each other.

🤹
The Philosophy

The Throw. The Set-Up. The Catch.

Everything we teach maps back to these three moments — in juggling, and in every team.

01 — The Throw

Delivery

How a message leaves your hands matters. Clear, well-timed, well-aimed. A sloppy throw is unfair to whoever's meant to catch it — the same way unclear communication sets colleagues up to fail.

02 — The Set-Up

Preparation

Good throws start long before the ball leaves your hand. We help teams build the habits, structure, and context that make change land smoothly instead of landing as a surprise.

03 — The Catch

Understanding

The whole point. If the catch isn't easy, nothing else mattered. We train people to check for understanding — not just to speak clearly, but to confirm the idea actually arrived.

What We Offer

Workshops that work on two levels

Hands-on, energising sessions — with a serious payoff for how your team communicates.

🎯

Staff Training

Build confidence and cohesion fast. Juggling-based exercises break the ice, build focus, and create shared language teams keep using long after the session ends.

🔄

Change Management

Change fails when the "catch" is skipped. We help leaders set up change properly — pacing the throw so people can actually take it in and run with it.

💬

Better Communication

Practical tools for clearer handoffs, better listening, and fewer dropped balls — in meetings, projects, and the everyday moments in between.

"It's not about how well you throw. It's about how easy you make it to catch."
— Focus On The Throw
FOTT Productions

The same principles, on a different stage.

Beyond the workshop room, FOTT Productions produces plays and theatre — because a good story needs the same set-up and delivery as a good idea, so the audience always makes the catch.

The Toe Poke

Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2026 · Braw Venues @ Grand Lodge · 7–18 August

A comedy imagining the meeting of Scottish football legend David Narey and English commentator Jimmy Hill — the man who dismissed Narey's stunning 1982 World Cup strike against Brazil as "a toe poke." With broadcaster Archie Macpherson caught in the middle, the play spans three World Cups and Scotland's long, complicated love affair with the beautiful game.

Now touring — catch The Toe Poke at Dundee Fringe, Main Hall, The Little Theatre, 19–20 September.
